RE: [MSA] Mom died early Sunday

Mary, I am so, so sorry to hear about your mother Helen. My mother Joyce
(71) died, too, before the true end stages of this disease -- still, I know
she would have wanted to be here no matter what. I know how hard it is to
lose a mother. I miss mine daily and know that you, too, will carry your mom
around always. I am thinking of you and your family and of your mother
Helen.

    Mary,
I am so sorry that you have lost our mother. As a person just newly
diagnosed at age 46, I am wondering what is in my future. I feel for your
loss. And, I know how hard it was for you and your father to be her
caretakers and watch her decline. I wish peace for your mother, and also
    for you and your father.
I lost my mother when she was 54 years of age, and I was 29. She had been
ill for many years with congestive heart failure and was in the hospital
with tubes in her just about every three months. It was so hard on her, yet
she fought hard to continue to live. I had always been her caretaker until
I had my brain injury just 8 months before she died. It was a very
difficult time for both of us.

Very sorry to hear about your mom.

You did the best you could and do not hate yourself for thinking you were behind in your awareness of her needs. Only the good Lord can see that far ahead and I believe He did, because she was spared an agonizing life.

It hurts to have her gone but you can be comforted in the fact that she is no longer suffering. That is really not much comfort at all when you miss her terribly.

May the Lord bless you in the coming days and lead you in whatever decisions you have to make.
